EasyFM is very lucky to have Phil Sutton broadcasting across China. He is one of the most experienced western DJs to broadcast in China. His first show kicked off from a studio in Australia some 11 years ago now. He was the first westerner to be given such an honour. Phil was one of the key people involved in setting up EasyFM.

Over the years Phil has alternated his duties by broadcasting from China Radio International studios in Beijing and from studios in the Olympic city Sydney.

Phil is one of those "born-to-talk" DJs, who from the age of five dreamed of being paid to play his favourite music. It didn't want it to be merely a passing hobby. He became a radio addict! His parents were forever trying to take away his tiny radio, which seemed strapped to his ear night and day.

Before breaking into radio in rural Australia and then China, Phil worked in the banking and welfare areas. But this was so boring and Phil was a restless radio addict just dying to work in a studio.

He hosted music shows in Sydney Australia, including a Nationwide Weekly top 40 countdown show for many years.

Phil has many interests outside his love of popular music. His friends say he's an excellent piano player who has a reputation for entertaining party-goers late at night with his own unique version of well-known hits. In fact he's a song writer with more talent than his modesty is prepared to admit.

Put a camera and a tourist map in his hands, and Phil will be out the door and travelling the world on another adventure. He loves exploring the lesser known spots in the world and that's why China has always fascinating him.

In over 10 years of broadcasting in China Phil has made many international friends and continues to be amazed at the power radio has to entertain people from all nations.

His favourites are too many to mention here but when you listen to Phil each morning, you can be sure that all the music he plays, are his favourites.
